I'm very interested in using or duplicating this product ...

<<Curl-Away uses completely different ingredients than other relaxers and is

gentle on hair. It is a low pH, water-based gel containing deionized water,

natural, organic acetic acid, a cosmetic emulsifier, MSM (dimethylsulfone),

grapeseed oil, xanthan gum, PEG 400 Monistearate, and fragrance. These

ingredients

relax curl and soften coarse hair. Curl-Away is non-alkaline and safe for

all hair types. Curl-Away may also be used on previously straightened hair.>>

I have three questions:

1) What purpose to these ingredients serve ...

natural, organic acetic acid

MSM (dimethylsulfone)

xanthan gum

PEG 400 Monistearate

2) I'm assuming the acetic acid is the active ingredient. What else could I

use in its place and at about what pH would you guess this product to be?

3) Would the alkalinity of the soap-based shampoo UNdo the acidic relaxing?

Thanks soooo much ... I'm desparate !!!

Coral, you wrote that you wouldn't make an oil product without the

use of Vit. E as an antioxidant. A couple of follow-up questions:

1. Do you/would you use Vit. E in CP soap?

2. (I know this has been addressed before, but as usual since I

didn't need the info at the time I didn't pay attention to the

thread! Sorry. . .) There are lots of different Vitamin E products

out there, aren't there? How do I know which one to use????
