My therapist has been encouraging me to try it since I spend too much time depressed and it is effecting my sleep again, down to as little as 2-3 hours a night. But I also have the early signs of cholangitis again after only 9 weeks, and on antibiotics the entire time, so I have to find something to help. I reviewed the emails for SAMe and it looks like only 2 or 3 people are taking it, and I didn't see anyone taking it at the therapeutic levels I found in articles (800-1600mg/day). I intend to start at 400mg and level at 800mg for a while. I guess I will be a good test case since I have regular ERCPs and fatty infiltration in the liver. Any effect on the sclerosing process will be easily checked. The fatty liver is also easy to check via ultrasound. It is expensive, but Puritan's Pride is just over $1/200 mg capsule if you take advantage of their normal 2 for 1 offers (). Rite-Aid also has it listed in today's mailer for $19.99 for 20 200mg capsules, manufactured by Nature Made. Also, for those of you who've wondered, I stopped subscribing to the email and only browse online periodically, so that is why you don't see many messages from me. The volume of mail was just to large to handle. The web page reports nearly a 1000 messages for September. The amounts you mentioned, were they for people with depression or for people with liver disease? I couldn't really get a clear cut feel for how much Mike should be taking....besides it is SO expensive here in Canada....20 pills for 29.95 plus tax...that works out to about $35 per box and it only lasts 10 days taking two per day. I JUST HAD AN ERCP TODAY AND THE PSC STOPPED PROGRESSING. IT HAS STOPPED PROGRESSING SINCE APRIL. I GET A MASSAGE ONCE A WEEK AND GO TO THE CHIROPRACTOR ONCES A WEEK. I AM ON 900 MG. OF ACTICALL AND 400MG. OF FLOXIN A DAY. I HAVE NEVER HAD AN INFECTION. I WAS DIAGNOSED IN 11/98. THE HEPTOGEN IS UNDER LIVER SUPPORT. I am ordering from Vitamin Research today, do Ijust mention Norms name or do I have to quote some number for the discount? At a 45% exchange rate it's going to be expensive along with the SAMe, but hey, I feel a person's health is worth it. I really believe there is more that can be done other than just taking Urso, or Actigall. Like you said, and I agree, sometimes Dr.'s get too hell bent on being invasive, I know sometimes it's necessary, but I really like Mike's Dr., he doesn't believe in doing an ERCP unless it's absolutely necessary. Right now, the only symptom he has is occasional fatigue, but since starting on SAMe, even that has practically disappeared. Is there any tecnique to the massages or do you just dive in....thank you so much for your positive outlook, and I hope you continue to stay well. I'm curious because my husband took it for two months after his diagnosis of PSC before starting urso and he had bloodwork done last week, his counts had dropped, I can only assume it was the SAMe.
