(Sorry, I can't remember the name of a product that contains no

water. It begins with an " a " . . .)

I recently saw a recipe for a bath oil that contains several

different liquid oils, isopropyl myristate, and Vit. E as a

preservative. It was my understanding that only products containing

water need a preservative. Am I mistaken?

You're probably thinking about the word " anhydrous " .

Vitamin E is acting as an antioxidant not a perservative.

I'm sure you';l get 50 replies to your question, but Vitamin E is not a

preservative, it is an anti-oxidant to help keep oils in your product from

becoming from becoming rancid . I wouldn't make an oil product without it.
