Guest guest
Hi everyone, I have not written anything here in a long time. I was in remission for almost two years. This September my wife and I moved to the UK, where I started a new job (we used to live in Houston, where I was diagnosed in 2008). The stress of moving and the new job brought out a flare, but I didn't think it was too bad. I was able to do my job (which involves being in an office, so not much physical exertion), and I have now seen a rheumatologist. They gave me an injection of steroids, and started me on MTX, so I am feeling much better already. Just before I saw the rheumatologist, though, I came down with a stomach flu for four days. I am still laughing, because the morning I woke up with the flu, all the Still's symptoms had disappeared completely. They stayed gone while I had the flu, and then on the fifth day, when the flu was gone, the Still's symptoms all came back. So no matter which disease I was suffering from, I had one that was gone, and I could feel good about that! Most people have no upside to having the flu, but thanks to Still's my flu was like a holiday -- well, except for the fact that I still had the flu. But it's a nice change to feel lousy in a different way! Has anyone else had this experience? Just curious. I wish everyone better health and stress-free holidays. And the flu if you want it! Best wishes,
Guest guest
Hello , Welcome to the UK - whereabouts are you? I've also had some problems mine being with Raynaud's Syndrome and a terrible cold and as you say it makes a change from the Still's! Hope your remission returns soon and stays with you for a long time and glad you're feeling better.
