Greetings, I am writing to introduce myself as a new member. I have been struggling to find out what has been attacking my immune system these last 2 years. For me the primary symptoms were a failing digestive system, chronic fatigue, and arthritis. I had Lyme's tests about a year ago that came out negative...but was fortunate to have a MD who referred me to a Natural Path PhD that kept looking for answers. I recently was tested with a more advanced Cytokines test, and found to have a severe case of Lyme's with the viral, bacterial, and parasitic forms, along with co-infections. So, I've probably had this for 2 years....but have been diagnosed for the past 6 weeks.

Since then I have voraciously reading everything I can get my hands on, and have finished 3 books along with everything else I can. I am in my 50's, widowed....but have had the life experience of a child who had a rare illness and catastrophic event happen to my son at his age 5. It is through learning everything we can, and being in charge of directing our own health care plan (often against tradiitonal thinking) that my child lives today at age 24 - he beat the incredible odds against him. (It's a long story....) So I understand the value of learning all that you can. I am also a health care professional (Occupational Therapist) so that gives me a starting point to understand some of what I read.

So, here I am 2 years later, understanding more about the evolution and path of this journey, but have joined to learn more - ecspecially about Rife machines. (Just finished Rosner's very great book.) I am on daily IV of CS (along with some other supplemental stuff IV) until the end of December. It has been such a journey for my Natural Path Phd.....she is becoming Lyme Literate and realizing that more of her patients have this disease also - a good portion of her practice now. And that MD that referred me to her? His journey has brought him away from a practice with a narrow frame of mind to joining forces with her in practice in early 2011. God has brought me through this journey....and enabled me to have an employer who is compassionate and understanding about the health care challenges as it impacts work life....thank you God.

Well, that's a little bit about me, R from Indiana....hope to join in some interesting conversation! And keep on learning......
