Guest guest
Steve, A small, local company approached my about giving flu vaccine on-site last year, and again this year. I gave 13 shots and made $260 profit in about an hour this year, which is more than I would have made in the office. I especially liked that there were no notes to write afterward! I was thinking I might reach out to some other local companies for next year, if not too busy trying to keep my head above the paperwork! It's amazing how much of that there can be in a " paperless " office!---Sharlene--- > > Anyone ever thought of setting up a contract with local biz to give their employees flu shots at their office. Take half days on a wednsday for 2 months out of the flu season, and go gove the shots. It is a good way to meet prospective patients, have them sign a flu waiver that they keep that talks about flu prevention and about your office. > > Steve Horvitz, D.O. > stown, NJ > Www.drhorvitz.com > > Sent from my iPad >
Guest guest
We had local schools vaccinating all students with intranasal vaccines. According to one mom – they were donated to the schools by the manufacturers to improve immunization rates. I have 50 VFC doses and 40 private doses Beth Sullivan, DORidgeway Family PracticeCommerce, GA 30529 From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of PrattSent: Monday, December 13, 2010 4:29 PMTo: Subject: RE: Flu Shot Leftovers, anyone? We were slower than last year (we ran out of vaccine in 2 weeks in 2009), but still vaccinated until we ran out and am actually going to increase our # of doses next year, based on the number of calls that we received after we ran out (about 20). I’m also going to order some preservative-free for next year, which we haven’t done before. I know we haven't even gotten into the season yet, but anyone else seeing a slow flu shot season?I ordered a little less this year for various reasons, but still have about 70 doses left.Suspect this is due to...1. Slow flu season in the region, so patients aren't anxious to get in and get their shot.2. More and more and more Flu Shot Clinics -- whether it's the local chain pharmacies offering shots or the Community/County Health Clinics offering them at various walk-in flu shot days around the county -- seems like demand is down from my patients for getting a shot in the office.Just curious what others are experiencing.
