Guest guest
Since the topic was brought up, I just wanted to share about my fatigue. It used to be so debilitating, depressing and very hard to deal with as a single mom raising 2 kids. Finally, my doc started prescribing meds for it. The first was eventually not covered by my insurance and was over $500 a month. Then my doc suggested Ritalin. Took awhile to find the right dosage for me, but it helps me greatly. I take 10 mgs in the late morning and 10 more mgs in the afternoon and it sees me through. I realize not everyone might be able to take it, but that is my treatment and it seems to work. I can now go thru the day without needing a nap. Now my kids are grown up but my husband is so sick, I find myself in the role of caregiver for HIM. We are now awaiting word from the neurosurgeon about doing a biopsy on one of his brain tumors b/c they found the tumor marker they've bee looking for in his spinal fluid. For those of you who pray, please whisper one for him. BTW, I appreciated Patty's insight on her role of caregiver. Mostly b/c I am dealing with that myself. Often times people focus on the the sick and don't really realize how hard a role a caregiver has. Love to all, Gail (KY)
