Guest guest
Tara, thyroid problems are very heriditary, and some children are born with thyroid problems. You know this is something that I am unsure about on young children, as far as normal lab values. What was it that caused them to do these labs, was it behavior, or what type of symptoms? That would be helpful to know. My son > I just found out that my 3 year old son's T4 levels are 11.75H (normal according to them is 5.3 to 10.2). I don't know what's going on, because my son is in temporary foster care until I get some stuff " worked " out. > > He's only 3 years old! I thought that kinda stuff didn't show up until later in life. Anyone else in this situation? > > Tara
Guest guest
Hi, Your situation sounds difficult, but it seems you are really fighting for your son. There is much that is not known about the causes of autism and studies only reflect what little is known. Many people are finding that they can recover their children with various treatments and diets. Recently I read a mother's story about her 18 year old being recovered. It took years, but he is so much better. I would say to you to read and research various autism sites that talk about diet, supplements, homeopathy, gastrointestinal issues, etc. Don't give up because there is something that will improve his condition. Get support and information from this Yahoo group and some others on Yahoo: EnzymesandAutism GFCFKids Trying_Low_Oxalates TACA is another great site for information. I've only been doing this a few months and every time I think I have it somewhat figured out, I learn something new and have to make adjustments to diet and supplements. It's very hard and it takes a lot of time, effort, and faith, but I have seen improvements already and that keeps us going. I wish you the best. > > Hi. My son is almost 6 years old. Is there still hope for my son to recover. I have been told before that after the age of 4 years most kids in the severe spectrum like my child do not recover. I have try very much to be there for my son 100%. My husband donnot support me with my son 100%. It is very sad because he is a great father, but as much as I have ask him to go to families support meetings to educate ourselves to help our son more, he does not show interest. I can't work because I can't afford a baby sitter. I have two boys. My husband is the only one who brings income at home. I think that if I had the opportunity to divorce him, I would, but it is hard when you have a child with special needs. I will never give up on my child because God bless me for sending a beautiful boy who is very unique and special on his own way. >
