Guest guest
Hi ! Welcome to the group. Yeah, it's a relief to know we're not alone. I found this group in January, and it has been such a help not to feel like such a weirdo anymore--at least not all of the time! Oh yes, I'm am so much more sensitive to sounds when I'm PMS. It's hard to believe that one week I can somewhat tolerate the sounds and the next week I ready to scream at every sniffle. I think others here have mentioned keen sense of smell, but I'm not sure if it is related to 4S or not--I'll let some others comment here. I wonder if we're are more attuned in general to the senses. I am an observant person, noticing everything, taking in my environment. Maybe we tend to be more " sensitive " in the sense of awareness of the senses. Just a thought... That sounds hard about your daughter. It must be difficult for you. Would she be old enough to understand if you explained to her about 4S? Some families are understanding and some are not, but it would be wonderful if people in our families could realize that we have a real condition and be sensitive to that. Take care! Cate > > I am so thankful to find that I am not the only one that gets so angry over normal everyday noises!! I can't stand when people eat chips...popcorn or anything crunchy for that matter! Sniffing and heavy nose breathing!!!! There are tons more, but most are what everyone else has already said. > > I have 2 children who I just realized I am affecting, just the other day my daughter asked me if it was ok for her to eat the chips she was eating! ugh..I feel terrible! > > Now...one other thing I have is a high sense of smell. I'm wondering if anyone else has this too?? and I also noticed that when I have PMS I am extremely, oversensitive to the noises...anyone else? > > I look forward to finding ways to cope better with this annoying condition!! > > >
Guest guest
Ditto that . Same with me on the smells and the PMS. Also, if I lack on sleep it is MUCH worse. Sleeping well is more important than people realize.... > > I am so thankful to find that I am not the only one that gets so angry over normal everyday noises!! Guest guest
I absolutely cannot stand smells/chemicals/perfumes (which are made of petroleum, and have the same VOCs-volatile organic compounds - in them as cigarettes). Nasty stuff. Yes, like you said, rest/sleep makes a big difference. As does meditation. Am so sleep deprived though lately, due to noisy neighbors, that I can't even do that.
