I have been had routine labwork with each infusion medication I have received on a near monthly basis. I have also been aware of my increasing blood glucose levels and what seems lesser function of my pancreas in making insulin. I recently had a HbA1c test and it was high normal. I really have a low sugar diet and I am not overweight. The weight I lost at the time of my diagnosis has never returned. I worry about an auto-immune attack on my Pancreas also. On the positive side I am in my 8th week since my first Rituxan infusion. By far it has been the most effective medication in relieving a significant amount of my systemic Stills symptoms. My life is not what it was but it is more predictable and much more tolerable. Harry S. To: Stillsdisease From: proangler56@... I also had bad taste buds , and nothing tasted good. The 3 weeks I refered to, in the first 2 weeks I had experanced some of these symptoms. One night at the 3rd week at about 4:30 am my stomach woke me up with sever pain. I called my daughter on the cell phone in her bedroom and she came in to see what was going on with me. I told her about my pain and she called 911. I went to the hosp. for a week. They did a catscan with die and said ,we see nothing bad. But the kicker was they said I they found out that I had Diabetes. That explaned the 2 weeks of strange symptoms, it hit me fast. So I see my Rummy on the 21 of July. I must assume that I became a Diabetic from my Autoimmun Disorder. " " Have any of you in the group get Diabetes after you got Stills " " ? Right now my eyes are very blurey and I can't read much at all at this point. My doctor said the Disbetes will affect the eye's and much more. I now after 3 and a half years of still's have to learn and control a new disability. If you remember I also have a cronic back condition that I have to manage also. So I have 3 Disabilities now, my ( 1 ) Cronic Pain Back Condition from a broken back,( 2 ) Stills ( 3 ) Diabetes . Luck me.
