However, not all physiatrists know how to use Botox correctly. You have to find someone that's been spefically trained in how to inject botox and where. They inject it through an EMG needle. They first do the EMG to find the spastic muscle group (this is really the only " painful " part of the whole procedure), once found, they inject the botox through the EMG needle as I said. This injection really doesn't hurt. The needle is so fine because it has to fit through the EMG casing that goes into your skin.
