Kristiehttp://educateadvocateca.com Re: Re: Need some opinions You all saw me juggling and running the conference at the same time, it wasn't easy, and was really good. We definitely can go back to Arizona at the same hotel, they have offered me a better price and even cheaper room price for the attendees. So that is a HUGE option. There is also the Hyatt Regency in Irvine (we had our 2007 conference there) and they have offered me a smokin' deal as well. I know Dr. Mercola would be much happier with me if we did CA...he doesn't like the heat. Any other hotels near the beach in CA will be way too expensive, but I could check them out. Guest guest
I have gone to DIsney area conferences before, and I do find them distracting. Either it is from the busy area or me wanting to be at Disneyland, but my mind wanders. The Grand Californian was beautiful but expensive, the DAN conference was held in Anaheim too a couple years ago, as well as the first LIA conference.I really liked the opportunity to step outside and enjoy the fresh air, sunshine & nature. It was very relaxing time and a chance to sit back talk with listmates and also to have the chance to focus & take inventory of where we are and where we want to go for the upcoming year. I had a discussion with one of the staff members there and they said there were special blessing ceremonies by tribal chiefs & shamens. You can feel it is a good/ healing location. It was also fun to have the option of the casino, the pools and all the other things AZ has to offer.Tami, you definitely did an outstanding job here. Thank you. Nora Hello all. I just wanted to comment that because it may or may not be around the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim doesn't mean that it's not serene or that you HAVE to bring along your family. That's totally your choice. I have been to a conference at the Disneyland Resort Hotel in fact the Grand Californian that is partly IN the park and we felt removed from the park but knew it was there if we wanted to go in the park etc. Perhaps Nora can comment on that as we both went to that conference (Apraxia 2007). The Disneyland Hotel is further from the park though there is a monorail if you would like to go in the park. Some people did want to make the conference into a family trip before or after the conference and this is a nice place to start to do so. I understand the need to "get away" and respect that of those who feel that way. I think there is wiggle room to get away from the family during a conference such as this and then if one wishes perhaps bring in family after for a vacation or not. Your call. How we will work it is how we have for the past 3 years LIA conferences with myself going to the majority of the conference and husband going to the ones he wants to see but with our lil man in tow. He's been to Irvine, Indian Wells and also Arizona now! Anyhow wherever we go wherever Tami gets a great deal I am certain it will be wonderful! Kristiehttp://educateadvocateca.com Need some opinions I hope you don't mind...I'm the kind of person that needs people to bounce ideas off of. As I'm looking all over the West Coast for potential sites for our 2010 conference, they all have pro's and con's. Here are some options so far... 1. Same place as this year (Radisson Fort McDowell Resort) (seemed to work well for all) 2. Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, CA (good rate, beautiful room, GFCF foods, can bring the family...but is it overstimulating for our group?) 3. Palm Springs or Tucson (both have some beautiful resorts but are more difficult to get flights in from the East Coast) I'm also looking at places up in the Bay area but haven't found a good fit quite yet. (price and space wise) Thanks for any input. Tami Finding the best videos just got easier. Try the NEW Truveo.com. Finding the best videos just got easier. Try the NEW Truveo.com. Guest guest
just occurred to me there was a WAPF conference where they served WAPF-friendly food at a hotel in Burlingame, CA. Guest guest
I adore the idea of doing the WAP diet although I can't ferment foods well etc. WAP cooking classes/tips would be really fun.
