Guest guest
I don't understand why they are making a big deal out of it. In my district, we have busing, but should I choose to drive him I can submit a form and be paid for driving my son. http://www.courierpostonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2009903230325This article is from South Jersey - across the river from Philadelphia. The comments are horrible. They attack this woman left and right. We as a society have a long, long way to go. This woman has three children with autism. The district couldn't bus the kids, so they paid this lady to be the bus. The district saved thousands of dollars a year. But, the comments are so horrible and attack this woman when she saved the community so much money. Sorry, it is off topic. But, the people commenting are so mean to this lady that I can't help but try to pass this along. If anyone has friends at Autism Speaks, please send this one along. . . Guest guest
I think they make a big deal out of it because the average joe doesn't know a thing about sped. Many gened ignoramooses as I call them see our kids as a drain on the system. Of course, they see it that way because school districts promote our kids that way when they make comments such as, " Gee, sorry that kid with autism is acting out, there's nothing we can do about it, she's sped. " We see it here in Knoxville ALL THE TIME. Teachers are too lazy or too scared or too what ever to do what needs to be done & the gened parents are too ignorant to say things like, " Well why aren't you doing a FBA? " or " Where is the aid that the parent has asked for for the last three years. " So our kids are continually painted as money-sucking trouble-makers & we're the problem parents that want them in the classroom disturbing everyone just to be mean because we can't accept what's wrong with them. Guest guest
I have volunteered at my children's schools and let me tell you, they are all a little crazy about their " budget " . What gets me is the constant bickering and the ruthless competition and favoritism in working in school districts. They probably have nothing better to do than complain about this poor lady as being a reason for their hours being cut or something, maybe it is someone in the community complaining but regardless, it's no reason to use this mom as a scapegoat. > > > I don't understand why they are making a big deal out of it. Guest guest
It´s an extrange point of view for a Mexican citizen like me, because we don´t have the facility of public school bus paid with the state taxes (maybe because only 10% of the mexicans pay taxes, included my wife and me), and in the other hand, a parent with a kid with autism. My modest opinion it´s only that the people that complains about the ´ issue didn´t separate the aspect of the paid (excessive or not, I don´t know) and the aspect of the 3 kids with autism. In the "debate" (between """"), the people mix the aspects and the result was an exhaust of the money troubles of this times, with arguments like "Why am I going to pay for kids that are not of mine?"... "Stop to have children.." "... is sucking the budget...", "... is ..." etc. Of course, we, the parents of kids with autism are in the other side of the line and know about the costs of the therapies, the trouble to find good therapists, the anxiety about if the therapies work or not, if we are in hands of real scientist occupied in the wellness of our children, or if we are in hands of fraud doctors. I´m not a practicant catholic believer as well, but we know that we need to forgive that people, because, for their fortune, they don´t know that they´re doing. We have a lot of job with our children, and our kids are the first, and support us each other is an important part to lead them to success. I´m not an English spoker, so if there is a barbarism or a misunderstanding, I hope don´t cause any polemic, it´s only a point of view of a foreign pal.--- El mié 25-mar-09, Soliday escribió: De: Soliday Asunto: Re: Mom with 3 autistic kids attacked in blog after district fa...A: mb12 valtrex Fecha: miércoles, 25 marzo, 2009, 1:31 am I have volunteered at my children's schools and let me tell you, they are all a little crazy about their "budget".
