The commercial plan will not “coordinate” benefits

but you certainly do want to have them keep part D in place as noted below

until you can confirm that the commercial coverage is as good as or better than

the part D.

Also, be sure to look at the new commercial plan in regards to

RX D coverage as there are some that will drop coverage for the person if they

take part D coverage.

I think it depends on what the formulary looks

like for the Commercial Rx's plan. I talked to our other financial coordinator

and she suggested this patient continue to pay for the D until you can confirm

the new insurance's coverage. If the coverage is as good or better on the

commercial plan than the patient can drop the part D. Hope this helps.
