Guest guest
I feel it would be a rewarding job, but would not consider doing it without further education or some kind of certification. Also, I have to pay the bills and it would have to pay more than I make now to make up for the great benefits. I agree it would be great motivation and if I had known BFL and fitness 10 years ago to the extent that I do now, I might have gone down a different career path. Of course, no one knows what the future holds for their jobs so it could be a possibility some day. I can get a 75% discount off of tuition with my employer. I'm just not sure going back to college to get another degree or a Master's is something I want to do right now and maybe never. Andy > So my question to you BFL veterans is, have you considered becoming fitness trainers ??? Imagine, just being on this list and staying in touch with others gives you so much motivation to follow BFL...so wouldnt it give you even greater motivation if you were being paid for it ??? That way , you will never stray from the program and soon it will be hardwired into you and you will be doing something you love and making money for it!!!! > Does that sound like a good idea or I am just thinking too much ??? > Harsh > >

Guest guest
Harsh, What I worry about in becoming a fitness trainer is getting tired of being in the gym. I know quite a few whose workouts have ended up suffering because they don't want to go back and work out for themselves. Another problem of mine is being a cheerleader for someone....I'm not really good at that. I want to be able to say " this is what you have to do if you want to have a body like you want " and then they go and do it! I don't want to have to pump them up or talk them into going to the gym when they are not so inclined, etc. Not very realistic, I know...which is why I'm still a school teacher instead of a fitness professional! Sara money for it!!!! Does that sound like a good idea or I am just thinking too much ??? Harsh

Guest guest
Hi Sara, I totally get your point. I nenever thought of it that way....Yeah, one could be so bred of being in the gym, they might miss workouts themselves... Anyway, I just had this thought and I was thinking of pros like you and felt that if I were a newbie ,I would love to have a fitness trainer who knows BFL and is a shining example of BFL perfection herslef/himself. Thanks Harsh > >Reply-To: bodyforlife >To: <bodyforlife > >Subject: Re: Fitness Trainers >Date: Fri, 20 Jun 2003 19:35:59 -0500 > >Harsh, > >What I worry about in becoming a fitness trainer is getting tired of being >in the gym. Guest guest
Harsh, I agree - it really would be nice to have someone to coach you along. I've posted before about how I had a " success coach " when I started BFL who started a board for us (there were 20 on her team). She had placed second in the couples category of BFL the year before. I'm not sure I would have stuck with it without her! She was always there to answer my questions personally and encourage me....and here I am saying that I wouldn't want to have to be a cheerleader when I really had my very own cheerleader! I should be ashamed of myself - REALLY!! I think I'm going to reach out and try to help someone more after this thread! Sara Anyway, I just had this thought and I was thinking of pros like you and felt that if I were a newbie ,I would love to have a fitness trainer who knows BFL and is a shining example of BFL perfection herslef/himself.
