Guest guest
Hey everyone! Hope you are well! I have two questions, wondering if you can help me. For Michigan: I have a couple patients that are straight Medicaid only. I was told by the previous Financial Coordinator that these patients can be listed for transplant and will be covered (even though at a lower reimbursement rate, covered) I was told that in the event they were to receive a transplant I would need to obtain a PACER# but not until they actually receive the transplant. I realize many people end up being on Medicare etc. But I just want to be prepared in case it happens. I have a phone number that the previous coordinator left but wondered how other centers are handling straight Medicaid only patients? Any help with this is greatly appreciated!! My second question: I have a patient that is working for less than 50 employees and is not protected from what I've read and he's been told under FMLA. He has a living donor lined up and is hoping that this surgery can happen in the next few months. Is there anything anyone else knows in regards to protecting a person's job for a period of time while they are on Medical Leave? Are all the rules thrown out the window becuase he works for an employer with less than 50 employees?? I'm very green in this area of things and wondered if anyone can offer some ideas...? Thank you so much everyone and Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
