Thank you Dr. .

It is such a relief to know how real this is. I am coping better now knowing I already have the tools I need to try and over ride some of my reactions to sounds.

You are a life line!

The 20/20 Show ABC News

Good news, we will have a spot on the ABC Friday evening with Vargus. I spent an hour today with the producer and this will be coming in the near future. This is such exciting news! This will be a longer piece with more in depth coverage and information and we will also be provding the fact that there is a management program/protocol for 4S/misopphonia.Dr. Marsha , Audiologist

How can I get information on management programs? Does anyone have no tolerance

for everyday noises and motors period? The visual movements of eating, chewing

tapping affects me the same as the sounds. Most often I find myself reduced to

tears if I can't manage to get away. It can be very lonely and isolating. It has

not always been this way. It used to be a smaller number of triggers. Clapping,

humming, walking noise of slippers or slides...the list is never-ending. I am

trying sound generators that help slightly to mask very quiet sounds. I Also

have a problem obsessing and am trying wellbutrin to help control my number of

thoughts. The anxiety I think is having strong effects on my health. I think it

may be the cause of hair loss and I have gotten very very thin. I am at a loss

of how I can better help myself. This is truly debilitating...but I often see

God give me grace to endure and function on situations so I try to not shy away

from trying to engage life and not live under headphones constantly. Some times

I would like to enjoy peace and quiet and relax but it isn't possible. Even the

bass in music is unbearable or ear plugs can give the sound of running water in

my head...can anyone relate to this extreme of misophonia / 4S ???

I am sorry you have this so bad. I hear you and understand how aggrivating it

can be. Sometimes just to make through an event can be a challenge.

That's FANTASTIC!! Thank you Dr J!!!

I am most interested in seeing any misophonia-specific treatment protocols that

have worked. Does anyone here have any experience with that? I know we all try

to eat well and excercise and take supplements . . . anyone been cured? Or

helped? Do the in-ear sound generators work?
