Hello everyone,

My GP suggested that I undergo some testing with a specialist, in which I did-reluctantly. Anyhow, I went in for a bone density test, have osteo in hips and lower back from the long term use of steroids. The Dr. mentioned that my HLA-B27 test came back positive. She asked if I had Bowel problems, which i dont, and ordered a colonoscopy.

Just thought it was interesting. I believe 65 percent of people with EN do test positive with this test. Has anyone here had the test done?

Love to All,

AJ

Hi AJ,I wasn't familiar with the HLA-B27 test so I looked it uphttp://www.labtestsonline.org/understanding/analytes/hla_b27/test.htmlI personally question the need for a colonoscopy in light of a positive HLA-B27 test based on thishttp://www.pjms.com.pk/issues/octdec06/abstract/article7.htmlbut it it is good to have a colonoscopy to rule out IBD. Both Hubby and I and a friend of ours did the colonoscopy without sedation. It was not painful and I could see everything on the screen. It was interesting to watch. Good luck!Love,http://poems2order.wordpress.com/Please enter Erythema Nodosum.........Thanks!Subject: HLA-B27 positiveTo: erythema_nodosum_Group Date: Thursday, March 17, 2011, 12:09 PM
