Guest guest
Sorry to hear. That sounds awful!!! I've never had that problem but I do have impacted ears. I tried to have them cleaned once and it made me so sick that I stopped it and never tried again. Tammy To: Soundsensitivity Sent: Wed, May 12, 2010 4:55:21 PMSubject: question for the group Hey Everyone, Been a while since I posted but I have been reading all of your posts. I had an experience last week that I feel may be related to 4S and I wanted to get some of your feedback. I have suffered with 4S since I was about 10. Later I developed a very bad case of tinnitus that seems to be getting worse every day. In my case, my left ear has a constant roar and my right is much less severe with just a very mild ringing pretty much all the time. Anyway, a week ago I had a very bad experience with a spell of severe vertigo while I was at work. I have had this happen in the past but not nearly as severe or long lasting. I could barely stand and somehow managed to get myself home and horizontal. The spinning lasted for several hours, ebbing and flowing between a full on spin to just a sense of imbalance when I tried to walk etc. I went to my normal GP and he examined my ears and thought I may have some wax buildup in the left ear so they irrigated my ears and there was some wax that did indeed come out. After a couple of hours I felt better and although the spinning had stopped, I still felt pretty wobbly. Stayed that way for two days. On the third day, I was awoken by the loudest roar I have ever had in my left ear. Sounded like a jet engine was caught in my eardrum. When I tried to get out of bed, the vertigo kicked in again and it was even worse than the previous incident. Really made me quite sick but I will skip over that part in the interest of not wanting to gross anyone out. Back to the doctor and the same routine with flushing both ears. However, this time, he took a real hard look inside my left ear and said that the ear canal was now closed up and swollen. He prescribed an antibiotic, ear drops, and sudafed. That was 4 days ago. Since then, I have kind of been mostly OK but I still am seeing spells of some unsteadiness and a sense of less than perfect balance. I should add that I am athletic and in shape. I bike, jog, and work out daily. Just wondered if anyone else has issues like these and how you handled it. Thanks. Curtis So
Guest guest
Wow that must be really scary I can't say that I have experienced that exact thing, but I have had some strange feelings when my 4s is really bad. I was in class the other day taking a final and a girl next to me kept snorting back snot and it was so nasty and wet sounding, that anyone else would have gotten a tissue. It was right next to me and there was no way i could just plug my ears. I started to become overwhelmed and I felt dizzy. I almost felt as though I was going to pass out. I just quickly circled answers on the final and got out of there. > > > > Subject: question for the group > To: Soundsensitivity > Date: Wednesday, May 12, 2010, 1:55 PM > > >  > > > > > > > > > Hey Everyone, > > > Been a while since I posted but I have been reading all of your posts.  I had an experience last week that I feel may be related to 4S and I wanted to get some of your feedback.  > > > I have suffered with 4S since I was about 10. Guest guest
Have you heard of Meniere's Disease? It sounds like what you describe. --Your secrets are safe with me. I won't remember them tomorrow. Subject: Re: question for the groupTo: Soundsensitivity Date: Wednesday, May 12, 2010, 5:04 PM I am not sure if you read my post, when I joined the group, but I have 4S since I was very young, can't remember when it started, but around 7 I would say.I am now 47 and 2 1/2 years ago I lost the hearing on my right year. I was walking with a friend and suddenly I felt pressure on my ears (like you feel on planes)I decompressed and one came back and the other didn't. I went straight to a ENT specialist and she immediately diagnosed Sudden Hearing Loss (SHL) and prescribed steroids. I was fine this day. Next day I couldn't get out of the bed with vertigo. I stayed in bed for 5 days, I had to crawl to the bathroom, the only thing I would leave the bed for. After that it took about 18 months to recover the balance and I have tinnitus on the right ear. I hope this is not a prognostic, but I can't stop to think that these things are somehow related.>> Hey Everyone,> > Been a while since I posted but I have been reading all of your posts. Guest guest
I apparently have tinnitus too, and sometimes I have issues with dizziness, or my ears ache; I take that as a sign to get my ears looked at or flushed out. Sometimes it passes without doing that, though. (shrug)= M-F. Hotmail is redefining busy with tools for the New Busy. Get more from your inbox. See how.
