Guest guest
Hi everyone, Just couldn't stay away and thought I'd let you have an update. Fortunately I wasn't eligible for the drug trial I went to see about - it was for Menadione Sodium Bisulphite in the treatment of patients with active RA. Anyway, to cut a long story short, the rheumy I went to see would not say whether I had RA or not, BUT he did say that I had OA PLUS something more severe!! Mind you, my RF has jumped to 151, everything else is normal, but he really wanted to see deformities, swellings AND nodules! LOL, he seemed a bit taken back when I mentioned I was only on Minocyclene and a bit fo prednisilone when I flare up. Seems they don't like to dx RA here unless you have all abnormal bloods, as well as all the rest!!!!!!!! Anyway, just had another test for RF and ESR and I guess these will be like all the rest - abnormal RF and normal ESR. I've been taking care of my Mum's house as well as my own - she has just had a shoulder reconstruction and get this - as soon as she had woken from the op she was told she could go home (she had a morphine drip in at the time). Anyway they allowed her to stay another day and when my sis and my Dad went in to see her, they had just taken the drip out, dressed her, packed her clothes and told them she was being discharged!! My sister asked for her pain medications and they said the doc hadn't ordered any. My sis said 'Of course not, he's supposed to be coming to see her in hospital on Friday and she was supposed to stay in a week!' Anyway the sister in charge got real uppity about it until my sister whipped out her prescription pad, wrote a script for panadeine forte and said to get this filled! They realised then that she is a doc! Boy, were we wild - but this is the state of the health system here - go in and have your op and then you're out, no worries about any complications. Mum had had a heart turn while she was under the anaesthetic and that has given us a scare as well. So, that's why I've got a double lot of housework to do. My dad has emphysema and can't do much, though we have got the Red Cross coming in to shower Mum which takes the bending and kneeling away from me. But, boy, do I ache when I get home!!! No time for the next six weeks or so, but it's great being in a home filled with love and caring and sharing now. Anyway, this must be about a month's worth of mail in one, so I'll just zip up for the time being, Love and hugs to you all, Jude. ______________________________________________________________ xxxxxx xxxxxx x x x x x x x x Love, Laughter x x and Friends x x are always x x welcome x x here x x x x Perth, Western Australia mailto:judy@...
