Guest guest
Laurie, I am so glad you had some good news from your oncologist. That is great and maybe these other tests will give you more good reports. Hang in there and remember that we are here to vent whenever you need to. Would you mind telling me what a pentamadine treatment is? That is a new one for me. I do understand about getting tired of seeing medical people - it does seem endless at times. Are we going to have to bribe you to tell us about the " ramp? " No will tell us won't you ?????? Don't you dare leave us hanging on this story. We need a laugh. Guest guest
-- The appt w/oncologist was a " good report " she said.. I guess it was. Right now I'm kind of down about a couple other things. The lymph nodes beneath my diaphram (sp?) are still there, but the 4 she felt last time are gone. So that last part is great! Would you believe I forgot to ask her about alternative ways to check for cancer (I hate that word) besides CA19-9? I was so mad at myself. I wrote it down while we were at the restaurant, but forgot to transfer it over to my sheet w/questions on it. The CT scan did show a couple of what they believe are ovarian cysts, but they are " concerned and feel it should be followed up with a pelvic ultra sound. " That's part of what is bumming me. Why couldn't things just be let alone instead of new things popping up? The other thing I'm down about is upcoming appointments--too many in too short a time. Ophthamologist 9/29; neurologist 10/25; back to Omaha 11/14 and 3 Pentamadine treatments monthly between now and 11/14 plus the ultra sound shortly. I guess it's been just too long a haul--too many years w/diseaseS - 22 yrs since I was diagnosed w/UC. Well, I didn't mean to go on and on. Thanks for letting me " vent. " I really enjoyed meeting you and lunch was really great! You were right in your prediction--I did gain 3# --thanks a lot! No, seriously I did gain 3# between Monday morning and this morning. I know it's all those fluids they've had me drinking to get rid of the dyes for the CT scan. By the way, they did find fluid around the spleen, so I imagine my Lasix will be increased when I contact Dr. Sorell tomorrow like he asked me to. Thank you, again, , for the wonderful lunch and nice gifts. I'll never forget our driving around in the parking ramp looking for my car. I'll leave it at that and let rest of the group wonder about our " ramp " trip. To Laurie > > Hi Laurie! How was your appointment with the oncologist? I hope everything > went well.
