Lainey,

What do you do for your IC? Do you follow any sort of special diet? I know

there is a diet to follow, but I don't know where to find it or if it's

working for anyone.

My case is mild and my doc isn't treating it as I have no other symptoms of IC

except for this burning to the urethra.

Thanks,

Daina

Hi,

Here's a link about the I.C diet. I have followed it for 11 years and do

fairly well on it. I also have vulvodynia which is a whole different diet. I

find different chemicals and supplements etc. can also cause problems.

I hope this list is helpful to youl

Darlene,

This is a WONDERFUL resource for IC. I am wondering if you are aware of any

other such resources that delineate diets for VV and possibly yeast? Thanks

for sharing this site with all of us!!!

I have a link for the low oxalate diet for VV but I don't have a yeast diet

link. I think if I had to give up one more food group I would scream!

Darlene,

Thank you for the IC diet link. I too have struggled with how to reconcile

the two diets as well as how to cook for myself and still make favorites for a

husband, four year old and seven year old. My v vs speialist has very

negative opinions of the oxylate theory and the Citracal. In my case, he

think my problem is more nerve related. I find that I get into more trouble

straying from the IC diet than the vulvodynia one. What has your experience

been?

Deb,

Gee, you gave me something to think about. Which gives me the most problems

straying from the I.C. diet, or the VV diet? I think it's the VV diet because

I really follow the I.C. diet very strictly. My OB GYN went to a conference a

year or two ago, in South America, where they discussed VV and she said that

the consensus of opinion was that it was a nerve problem too. I think that

different factors can make the nerves fire such as diet. This is just my

opinion, and also I have a real direct problem with chemicals and perfumes,

sometimes more so than my diet. I think that the low oxalate diet and calcium

citrate does help a lot of women but I can't say it's helped me at all.

However I can't bring myself to ignore it and eat the high oxalate foods. I

don't know if I really answered your question because although I have been at

this for 11 years I still can be 100% sure that each and every high oxalate

food or some of the I.C. diet foods would bother me. Have you tried each and

everyone?
