Guest guest
Thank you for replying and I’m sorry if I didn’t respond to personal requests, they didn’t arrive! Let me be very specific as to how I approached this: I heard about this through my psychiatrist who had a patient with the same symptoms. I too was very skeptical of chiropractor treatments but after speaking with a friend who is a chiropractor and her husband is as well, they both said that yes, this makes sense because of nerves that go from the ear canal down the neck to the shoulders. (I wrote this in an earlier post to the group)I am not interested in analyzing why and how this is. Maybe if Dr J gets connected with my physiatrist in Portland and my chiropractor, they can figure it out. I am interested in being able to enjoy my 1000+ CD collection again, going to happy hour with friends, enjoying the things I used to be able to do. The chiropractor I am working with is probably the most skeptical person I’ve met. (Again, I wrote this in an earlier post). He has since become my number one champion. He is focusing on both traction and adjustment to my neck and upper back. I do have a lower back problem that affects my sciatica nerve and he hasn’t been focusing on that. We will start to now that the hearing problems are starting to subside. Many doctors and offices work on a sliding fee scale. If you don’t have insurance, ask them if you can have a sliding fee. I have been working with the chiropractor for approximately 2 months, to give you an idea of the length of time so that you can budget. ( I posted this earlier) For those of you who have worked with a chiropractor, or are planning on it, you have to request a hearing test. Be specific, state that this is a hearing issue so that the appropriate tests are done. I did try the electric massage part and it reversed the good that the adjustment had done. I think the nerves in my neck were too raw and it had the opposite effect than intended. Again, make sure to ask for any treatment that focuses on the ear. Another benefit I noticed, this is more for the women, not men, things don’t slide off my shoulders any more. My bra straps stay in place, as does my purse. I know many people don’t believe in chiropractic treatment, and I have my lower back pain because I didn’t but I can’t argue with results. I look forward to hearing from others who will try this specifically focused treatment. In the meantime, there are 2 people who this has helped.
