RE: transplant ?

Now for a moment I am stuck...my young patient has used all of her hospital days and now have 8 co days left. She has Blue Cross 2ndary..they tell me that she have to use her ltr before they kick in as primary...I thought the patient did not have to use them..I never had my patient to exhaust all days yet. Now, she is being transplanted today and I did not want her denied so I entered her info on I Exchange anyway just in case. Can someone share the Medicare exhaustion rule while I look it up. Blue Cross tell me they pick up on day 101 so that tells me she need to use her ltr days. Darlene D.
