Guest guest
I think it's great this is working for you and I am reading it with interest. I don't always respond to that which I find interesting as there is sooo much traffic here now but that doesn't mean I'm not interested.Thank you for sharing your course of treatment and I can't wait to hear more about itHeidi I posted an update a couple of days ago regarding my treatment via a chiropractor. Only 1 person responded. I know that people want to vent, to share, to commiserate. I have made a huge effort to find a solution and what I found has been working. I thought that more than 1 person would be thrilled to know that there is a potential solution but from the complete lack of response, I have to wonder if this group would rather complain than find remedies. If I have indeed found a possible remedy, there needs to be more than one person trying it in order to draw conclusions. I can only say that it has worked for me and I have been doing all that I can to help others but seem to have run in to a brick wall. Guest guest
, I was interested in what you had to say regarding your chiropractic experience. I had over 50 visits one year where my chiropractor worked to get my back completely straightened out. It did help my sciatica problem among other things, but did not seem to have any effect on my misophonia. Wish it did. I am going to look more into it anyway. Guest guest
rebecca, i did respond to your post. i tried to get a dialogue going and asked you some questions. i also emailed you twice so i could find out more about your successes. you see, i have an 18 yr old son who i desperately want to help by finding out what has worked for others. it is very hard to get a response from many of the members including yourself. i'm not sure why. we should all be brainstorming and connecting about our attempts and successes. i agree that this site shouldnt just be a place to commesurate. we need to find answers; i'm glad you found something that worked for you. > > I posted an update a couple of days ago regarding my treatment via a > chiropractor. Guest guest
In response to your emails/s. There are several reasons why I did not respond immediately:It was Thanksgiving yesterday. I have been cooking and cleaning for two weeks in anticipation. Now I'm cleaning up and, still cooking. I really didn't have a lot of time to look at and respond to all my emails.I am new to the group. I am not used to getting all these emails.I'm guessing that you are rather young and like spending a lot of time on your computer, cell phone, etc. I'm older and I can't stand being on my computer for long periods of time. I check in morning/evening. When I have time, I'll go over my emails and save or respond to those that stand out for information or (whatever).I have made some suggestions and have asked questions. I haven't gotten any personal, one on one feedback. That's okay. I cannot afford a chiropractor. I used to go to one. You have to make sure you find an excellent one. I take free yoga classes instead. It helps my back and my disposition. However, I'm glad you made that response to your original question because I went back and carefully read your first email. So here's my question: How many of us have sciatica or back problems? I do and you do, anyone else? To: Soundsensitivity Sent: Fri, November 25, 2011 10:25:20 AMSubject: did anyone read my email ??!! Guest guest
I have back problems.. but not the kind a chiropractor can help with. I've been told that a chiropractor would be -the- worst thing for a few of my back problems (I have 4 different things wrong). A chiropractor has agreed that there is nothing they would be able to do for my back. --------------------------------------------------------- ♥ " Hope is more than a word; it's a state of being. Guest guest
Hi ! You didn't run into a brick wall. Your information is very helpful, and thank you for that. For me, at this point, I am reading what every one writes because their situations can be similar or different, but still interesting. It's gained knowledge for me regarding misophonia. Also, I am taking it one step at a time. I have an appointment in December with a doctor familiar with 4S. Maybe I might have some information to share, but please know it is very much appreciated. Guest guest
I used to get sciatica when I was pregnant, but after I gave birth it would disappear. My mom had sciatica, BAD! She had to be hospitalized because she couldn't walk and we did not know what was wrong with her. I hope this question doesn't sound stupid, but is this related to 4S? Guest guest
well done for typing with no spacebar!I have to say that it is true that when you put people down for venting then they are discouraged to do it. Some people have no other outlet (when I say 'some' I am talking about myself!) to let out all of the misophonia madness - I have no person in my life who can ever understand what it is like so this forum is important to share details without being seen as "complainers". Actually, all of the venting from other people has helped me a lot in feeling more normal and I believe that this venting also helps the professionals who access this site to put together different data and common themes occurring for misophonia sufferers. There is no need to feel sensitive that no one responded to your email. I am sure that your remedy is a good one but it is important to keep this forum away from any 'attack' mode and let people be, without needing to justify their actions (ie of not responding, or of being too busy to respond, or of feeling the need to vent their frustrations). We are all trying to survive this while at the same time having active lives. Guest guest
I’m sorry I didn’t respond.   I know that I am a big believer in chiropractic and it has helped my family feel much better. My daughter has misophonia and I’ve been taking her to a few different chiropractors over the years.  Although it has helped her to feel better and a little less sensitive to sounds, it definitely did not stop her symptoms and triggers. I must say that after many years of going, she is much better at dealing with sounds than she used to be.  However, I could never say for sure why this was because we have tried so many different things at the same time—I figured I’d just throw anything I could at it and see if anything made it better.   She still definitely has misophonia though. But if you’re getting benefits from it too, it may definitely be a viable treatment. Thanks for keeping us updated on your progress. Guest guest
I agree. When i first saw this site, i was flipping for joy that i wasn't alone and wanted to share my stories. unfortunately, our stories to be shared are not pleasant ones, so they may come across like were complaining but really were just sharing the 4s problem that we all have in common that we can not do with the outside world. I can only say that it has worked for me and I have been doing all that I can to help others but seem to have run in to a brick wall. Guest guest
I agree. When i first saw this site, i was flipping for joy that i wasn't alone and wanted to share my stories. unfortunately, our stories to be shared are not pleasant ones, so they may come across like were complaining but really were just sharing the 4s problem that we all have in common that we can not do with the outside world. To: "Soundsensitivity " <Soundsensitivity > Sent: Saturday, November 26, 2011 1:09 AM Subject: Re: did anyone read my email ??!! well done for typing with no spacebar!I have to say that it is true that when you put people down for venting then they are discouraged to do it. Guest guest
I do not have sciatica. However, i do suffer from restless leg syndrome. To: Soundsensitivity Sent: Friday, November 25, 2011 7:17 PM Subject: Re: did anyone read my email ??!! I used to get sciatica when I was pregnant, but after I gave birth it would disappear. My mom had sciatica, BAD! She had to be hospitalized because she couldn't walk and we did not know what was wrong with her. I hope this question doesn't sound stupid, but is this related to 4S? To: Soundsensitivity Sent: Fri, November 25, 2011 5:39:23 PMSubject: Re: did anyone read my email ??!! Guest guest
please share your experience with the doctor!! To: Soundsensitivity Sent: Friday, November 25, 2011 7:10 PM Subject: Re: did anyone read my email ??!! To: Soundsensitivity Sent: Fri, November 25, 2011 12:25:20 PMSubject: did anyone read my email ??!! Guest guest
I just came across this and I would be interested in hearing more. I never thought of a chiropractor being able to help with misophonia. What part of your body does he work on?
