We have a heart transplant recepient who shortly after was also deemed ESRD.

This patient is well past the waiting period(6 months) and still receiving

Dialysis as an inpatient, and has still not received Medicare benefits. Are

patient's still eligible for ESRD Medicare even though they are still in

patients?

Yes it was completed by our hospital eligibility services. I am thinking it must

not have made it to social security and I am just wanting to confirm the

inpatient status wont affect her entitlement before I fill it out myself and

mail it on her behalf.

I would recommend filling out if it didn’t seem to get

there. There should be no issue with the pt being in house. I would

also recommend sending to the office local to the pt home as it will get routed

there if you send to another office.
