Our facility requires the patient to sign a letter which advises that they agree to use their ltr days and that they will not replenish if no admission within 60 days. Happy Holidays! Thanks! She does need to use her LTR days. They should sign the

LTR letter at the point that the co-insurance days exhaust. Every once in

a while we run into someone that does not want to use them and we have to

explain that their plan will not pay if they don’t.

Once used, they do not get them back; however, if out of the

hospital for 60 days, they will start their inpatient benefit period once

again.

Thanks guys, I knew about the letter but I keep reading that the patient has the option to use ltr days. I had her sign the letter already so I should be good.
