Guest guest
Give the probiotic as far away from the Augmentin as possible. Also, Klebsiella is notoriously antibiotic resistant....Dr. Amy Holmes used to recommend giving bismuth (as in Pepto-Bismal) to breakdown the outer wall of the bacteria to allow the antibiotics to penetrate. You might give it a try. Peg P Mit and Janie's Mom lyndaianjaney wrote: Hi All, My 2 1/2 year old needs to go on Augmentin for 10 days to get rid of a dysbiotic flora, Klebsiella pneumoniae +3 (DDI). I am sick about this as antibiotics for 20 straight months is what contributed to this mess to begin with. Is there a good probiotic to take with the antibiotic that won't be completely killed off by the antibiotic...? He currently takes one Therabiotic Complete from s. Thanks for any suggestions.
