Advocate gave me this awhile ago. She said on page 9 at the top it specifies

that wages are an acceptable reimbursement. Obviously there are more rules

about this I'm sure. She said that we have been using that foundation since she

started about a year ago. Hope that helps a little...

the NLDAC application (travel and lodging assistance for donors) which also

asks for recipient income information and bases awards on both the donor and

the recipient income information.

Yes, it is very similar to that application. We can see the potential concern with providing both recipient and donor information, but have found no way around it. Upon challenging it they stated that it is not considered a "valuable consideration". They simply state that they need to ensure that there is no other way that the donor will be able to handle these costs. Nothing is black and white that's for sure. Good luck! NLDAC has the same protocol – as there

are limited funds available for donor services recipient income is taken into

account as there are times when the recipient can help the donor (for NLDAC for

travel and lodging that is necessary in order for the person to actually be a

donor) and such according to NOTA is not considered valuable consideration for

being a kidney donor. A key thing could be for the recipient to know his/her

income is being shared – I believe there are forms with NLDAC for both

the donor and recipient to sign for attestation etc.
