Guest guest
Good Morning everyone, I am Darlene from Washington Hospital Center, working with the heart transplant team. I am very new at this but this is the gist of what I know. I am responsible for verifying heart transplant and lvad benefits, also obtain the patient cost for Revatio and Milrinone. My problem is most of my patient's are less 65, have Medicare only and don't qualify for Medicaid (DC or MD) due to overincome. I'm told that I need to find the patient another insurance plan (is this what most of you do) Most of them do not have enough bills to meet the Medicaid spindown so they are stuck. What else do you offer them? I am trying to assist as much as possible but sometimes I feel so stupid because I can't provide the right answer to help them. Help me please anyone.. Thanks
