Guest guest
I am in desperate need of something to cancel out some noise at work that I can do nothing about. I sit in an open cubicle and there is a guy in the office next to where I sit who makes so much noise. He used to whistle constantly and I had to politely ask him to stop because I couldn't take it anymore. Now he always snaps his fingers, taps on his desk like he is playing drums and makes mouth noises like he is beating to music. It is so unbearable I don't know what to do anymore. I even asked the woman I work with if I could borrow her air purifier on her desk to block out some noise and she responded in a snippy tone "What noise?!".. so I figured this was my open to try to explain to her nicely what I am struggling with. She was only somewhat receptive. I told her how awful it was to experience this.. she suggested a radio. When I let her know really how severe it is - that I can barely sit next to my own husband because he breaths very loud - her response was "oh.. that's so funny". I know that people who don't suffer with this couldn't fully understand but I would hope that someone would not respond like that! Here I was trying to do the right thing and calmly explain why I was suffering and got this response. So now I am in the position as to what to do regarding the noise from the guy in the office. What would anyone suggest? A white noise machine or a radio? What brand of machine, there are so many? I cannot sit at my desk with headphones because I have to answer phones so unfortunately that is not an option. Please help!
