Guest guest
Mike, I so appreciate your bringing up Adrenal Fatigue (I've had it). The article mentioned in your post is very informative and helpful and I hope others read it. I concur that practicing a healthy diet and regular exercise, and avoiding drugs and alcohol are essential factors in helping to control Miso. I'd like to add that many over-the-counter and prescriptions drugs can cause tinnitus (speaking from a very bad experience), so to those of you who are taking anti-anxiety meds and anti-depressants, please do so with caution. Here's some information. http://www.hyperacusis.net/resources/drugsandtinnitusbaumanapril09.pdf http://thebuzzstopshear.com/2011/09/tinnitus-cause-all-about-ototoxicity-and-tin\ nitus/ I'd like to know if anyone notices if their Miso/4S changes with their diet. Such as, are symptoms better when you eliminate sugar, gluten, or caffeine? It's my understanding that they can be especially " toxic " to those with disorders or diseases. (Oncologists claim these substances can feed cancer.) I'd love to see more feedback on Mike's topic of adrenal fatigue and also on affects of diet on Miso/4S. Guest guest
Thanks Mike. I will look into this with interest HI all, I am rereading a book that I read 2 years ago called " Adrenal Fatigue the 21st century stress syndrome " by Dr. . I was being treated for this but moved and never finished the treatment. I bring it up because I think it may be common to us Miso folks due to the extreme and prolonged stress that Misophonia has on us. The fight and flight response, which we feel almost daily, puts an unnatural amount of stress on the Adrenal Glands, which are our stress glands. . They regulate a multitude of hormones that our body produces to deal with stress. Many things can cause Adrenal Fatigue... poor diet, lack of exercise, trauma, but the big one is stress. This can be compounded by other difficulties we deal with due to our condition like financial and relationship issues, drug and alcohol and on and on. When the adrenal glands are worn out we can have a nervous breakdown, which is another word to adrenal fatigue. Symptoms include insomnia, depression, weight gain, loss of sex drive, inability to concentrate and memory loss, just to name a few. The good news it that it is treatable! Here is an article that may be of interest if you think this is an issue for you, and you can find the book on Amazon if you want to learn more. http://www.naturalnews.com/019339.html Adrenal Fatigue is just one of the physical effects of this crazy condition we have which can wear us down over time if we are not careful. One of the reasons why I am always beating the drum here about proper diet, exercise, relaxation ( if possible) and avoidance of drugs( again if possible) and alcohol.I welcome any comments about this and anything similar. Guest guest
Dehydration makes it worse. Since drinking alcohol causes dehydration, then it makes sense that the condition worsens. Water or hydration helps and has been known to cure almost every condition. Guest guest
Also, I forgot...avoiding all sugar, and I mean from all sources, makes it almost go away completely for me. It is difficult but the feeling is unbelievable. By sugar I include all wheat products, potatoes, refined sugar, cane sugar, xylitol and other sugar alcohols, corn, etc. Just read a book by Connie called " Beyond Sugar Shock' and it will make you want to avoid it at all costs. Read some other books too. Also, Dr. Amen talks about the effect of sugar on the brain. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > HI all, > > > > > > > > I am rereading a book that I read 2 years ago called " Adrenal Fatigue > > > the 21st century stress syndrome " by Dr. .
