Guest guest
My older son has autism. My younger son started showing GI symptoms at 3mo of age. Blood in stools, spitting up food - I mean projectile vomiting! It turned out that he was allergic to many many things besides gluten and casein. He started showing developmental delays (motor delays and speech delays), he had no affect on his face, had several sensory issues, and started doing this head tilting thing every time he looked at something. So we put him thru EI, but also started GFCF diet and started closely analysing one food at a time what he was reacting to, and eliminated those foods. Soon his eczema started clearing up, and his development started taking off. By age 2.5 he no longer qualified for EI. Changing his diet, and starting probiotics early on saved my son from turning autistic. Oh and we did NOT give him MMR. Watch this kid like a hawk. Be careful when vaccinating. Start probiotics and diet ASAP!!! Siblings of ASD kids tend to have very similar issues....
Guest guest
Thanks so much. These were entirely the problems I was wondering about. Since my 8 yr old had gastro problems, and my 6 yr old has allergy issues as well, I feel it's well within reason to worry about my baby's spitting up. I forgot to mention in my original post a few details--my 5 month old was 9 pounds at birth, I'm breastfeeding her, she has been slow to gain weight (only 12 lbs 8 oz at her 4 month appt; 25%), she received her first two vaccinations at her three month appt and after that visit, she gained only 3 ounces the next month. I'm really starting to worry that her spitting up is not just " typical " baby behavior. Her five month well visit is next week, and I need to have some good questions and information or else the ped's going to push the vaccine. > > > > I have an 8 yr old dx Aspergers. Guest guest
I can only tell you about my story with my two boys. The first one was born typically developing, even ahead. With every vaccine after MMR at 12 months, his development greatly slowed down. He had several food allergy issues, leaky gut, etc. Lead was high, zince was low, copper high, B6 low, glutothione low. Pretty typical panel for autism. However, when he was a baby, we knew nothing about all of this. It wasn't until after his diagnosis, we got connected with the right docs. My second son was born (1998) just before news of a possible connection between autism & vaccines. We gave him the 2 and 4 month vaccines. The only way I can describe what was happening was he just looked sick. His 6 month picture was horrible. Red eyes, no interest in movement, etc. He also had a very sensitive spine to the point where I couldn't burp him by patting his back. He was low tone, low weight and height. Through the grace of God, I met a physician who had the guts to tell us to stop vaccinating the second child. He saved his life! I believe that the tendancy for gut damage, nerve damage and other developmental issues runs in the genes and then along comes a trigger. Don't pull it. I would wait until your daughter is older and you see if she is able to handle vaccines, if you still want to administer them. She could have an egg allergy (MMR is cultivated in egg) and her immature digestive tract is only going to be aggravated by more vaccines. If your pediatrician is willing to spread them out, start after 2 yrs old. Spitting up could be a sign that gut issues are already there and/or allergy. Wish you the best of luck, Heidi J. -----Original Message-----From: mb12 valtrex [mailto:mb12 valtrex ]On Behalf Of A ShadowSent: Thursday, March 05, 2009 1:39 AMTo: mb12 valtrex Subject: Re: worried about 5-month old with gastro problems I just ordered this for my little boy. Guest guest
if you are breast feeding your child get WHATEVER YOU are eating. so he would still be getting milk and gluten Recovering from Autism is a marathonNOT a sprint, but FULLY possible!Read more about it on my BLOGs athttp://www.myspace.com/christelkinghttp://foggyrock.com/MyPage/recoveringwisheshttp://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=677063169 Re: worried about 5-month old with gastro problems My son spit up alot too. Now he is 10 mos. old and is doing great!! He does have some shallow breathing, so I am wondering about asthma issues. Dang Dr. Bock!! haha. I am still breastfeeding. I did cut out heavy dairy products (no milk or ice cream). Developmentally he is doing great...pulling up, crawling, babbling, social, etc. But, he did spit up when he was younger. I do not give him any gluten products and no milk products, other than occasional Gerber chips with sour cream powder on them.>> I have an 8 yr old dx Aspergers.
