I have had sleep problems since after the high fevers in the hospital with what

they call the onset of my stills. I would recommend a sleep study to anyone

having sleep problems that can get one ordered from their doctor. I am seeing a

sleep specialist on the 8th because I am so restless that I never stop moving

and now they have diagnosed me with periodic limb movement diagnosed during the

sleep study. The doctor said it is more than restless leg since my whole body

is in turmoil. I rip the mask off and will not keep it on subconsciously so I

am going to see the sleep specialist. I am hoping for a good night sleep and

not waking up the house with the snoring and my husband with my constant

movement. I stayed by my mom last month and she said I fall asleep literally

talking to her one minute and out the next but I toss and turn all night so

never a good night sleep. I am also always fatigued they say my extreme fatigue

can be from both stills and sleep apnea I hope if I get the apnea thing under

control I will be less fatigued.

Subject: sleep problems/meds funny but not

I have had insomnia since age 8. ( my sister got married and brother went away

to college) oh......anyways many rheumatological illnesses come with sleep

problms. There have been times whn Stills is active and then I am as you know,

very sick and sleep 15 hours a day. But usually, I cannot fall asleep. In the

past benedryl then elevil helped but they caused urinary retention and then an

infection.

Now this is somewhat comical , but not really...I now take ambien, I am eating

with it I wake up hungry and eat something. This has been reported in the

literature and I am already a size 16 I dont need extra eating.

Since I have recently had high blood pressure a sleep study doc wants to see if

I have apnea. She suggested a med called seraquel.....no I said I will be a size

20 in no time on that one. It pays to know your meds.

ANyone here with other ideas....I tried just to hava a hald a banana and a haf a

glass of warm milk by the bedside, but I went downstairs and ate bread last

night???? LOL funny but not funny! I was totally awkae...just hungry gggr

Maybe I will just try sonata and or melatonin..of course I will tell my sleep

doc dont worry

Liz
