Guest guest
HI ANGELA....THE THYROID ISSUE.......MY TSH WHEN I WAS IN MY 20'S WAS .6 ( sorry caps ) Ok then I got thyroiditis autoantibodies in the thousands and the thyroid sore to touch endocrine person said it was a 4.( size of thyroid not TSH ) The sleep doc believes it is possible that the swollen thyroid is causing sleep apnea.....and causing my hypertension ( never had hypertension and not in my family) Oh also they gave me synthroid 25 mcg even tho my TSH was normal range....I had all the hypo symptoms. In my 20's TSH was 0.6 then lately it was 2.4 I felt lousy! With the small dose of synthroid, I feel better . The sleep problems are old as dirt for me. Watch your TSH levels are they going up ? You may be heading toward hypothyroidism...try to get a sleep study to rule out apnea from the swollen thyroid. Be well Enjoy the schooling Im a nurse ( retired home with kids ) medical stuff so interesting...being a patient not so interesting Liz Re: sleep problems/meds funny but not Liz, How are you doing? Well I think I am finally in the same boat as you. I been having a lot of problems with my sleeping. It is horrible since I have to go to class at 8 am and I am in a medical program so my attention is needed all of the time. Within a month I have gained about 30 pounds with me not over eatting or anything. I do have thyroid problems. I went to the doctor yesterday, my blood results for my thyroid were in the normal range. I have multinodule goiter. It is horrible because when I get inflammed I have problems swalling my food. My doctor says that in 2 months they will check my levels again to see what is going on and go from there. Or I might have sleep apnea because of me being so tired lately. And that is because I go to bed early, but still wake up really tired like I didn't get any sleep. Well I am going to go and I hope you keep me up to date about what is going on. Take care, Hugs and blessings, P. Corpus Christi, Tx > > > >
