Guest guest
Hi everyone] I am seeing a patient later this week who has been suffering extreme nausea and fatigue episodically for 13 years since going down with a viral infection which had sickness and diarrhoea as the major symptoms. Her GP has diagnosed her with ME even though she experiences no muscle weakness, but it does sound as if she has never properly shaken off the original infection. She has tried herbal medicine before (unani tibb I think) and ginger to no avail, and acupuncture hasn't helped either. She is currently taking 8 domperidone tablets a day and they aren't stopping the dreadful nausea. This current bout has lasted 10 months and she feels too debilitated by the nausea to leave the house. It is so bad that it wakes her at night. I'm thinking of giving her the anti-anusea mix I learned about at Dedj's wonderful seminar on acute medicine (matric, ballota and zingiber - 5mls in a bottle of water to be sipped prn) plus a mix aimed at targetting the virus, but, as I've never treated ME or nausea before I would appreciate any advice or experience that you might be able to share with me. Thanks bel
