Ne Meds

Well I went to my three month checkup at my Pulmonolgist on Thursday 05-

24-07. I get my meds through veterans if I can as I spent nine years

in the Army. I am now on Foradil Aerolizer inhaler two times daily,

Asmanex two times daily and Spiriva once a day. Of course I still use

my emergency inhaler levabuterol. Knock on wood I think I am doing

better but do still have some coughting and spitting white phlem but

not as bad as it was for a while. I think I am learning my body and my

symptons better as I can tell by the way my breathing is as to when I

need to take a puff or two of levabuterol. It has taken me fourteen

months to learn that, I guess being a senior citizen you don't learn

as quick as I use too. The advair 500/50 I was taking seemed to make

me cough more and had constant headaches and dry mouth. If I get a

little rattlely I try to start a coughing up spell on purpose to get

rid of the rattle and phlem in my lungs. How is everyon else doing and

is anyone else on these meds. Bob

I use Advair 250/50. I get dry mouth from my med..but don't contribute that to Advair..I contribute that more to my Spiriva.I drink water constantly, for dry mouth. I'm talking carrying it from room to room with me..I find when I dont have dry mouth I can breathe better too.

Do you mouth breathe?? I do and I think one of the reasons for my dry mouth, as well as the meds...

I'll tell ya Bob..I'm having a DICKENS of a time w/my lung congestion lately. I contribute that to the weather..other times I'm just not so sure why I get so darn congested and just cant seem to loosen that phlem to bring it up and out. It's soooo frustrating !!

So..I use my neb.that helps a little.

I need to start using my Vest again..I've slacked off bigtime. Maybe that will help.

I've also noticed .. even with all the water I drink ..my phlem is still rather thick..and white.

I know dif colors mean dif things..but does anyone know what thick white phlem means?

Hi Bob

I care for my mother here in Australia so her meds are completely different to yours. Her condition is quiet advanced and she suffers nausea all through the night and hot flushes after a bout of coughing.

Do these symptoms happen to you or anyone else you chat to.
