Guest guest
Okay, Funny, but not everyone believes in a Lord with a cross. That might be why it is not passed on. Am I being to sensitive? Sorry, I don't think so. I dropped off another RSD list because of being preached the " Lords " word too much. Here I am celebrating my holiday and I get a religious Easter card? I make it a point not to preach my religion. I think it would be wrong of me although I deeply believe in it. So no I'm not an atheist, but there might be some on this list, no I'm not a Buddhist, but there might be someone this list, no I'm not an agnostic, but there might be someone this list. And I want everyone to be comfortable with what goes out on this list. So Jo. While I don't mind reading this story I do take exception with the comment at the end. And I was offended by the Easter card. And if that offends to many people than I guess this is not the list for me. Felice
Guest guest
felice, i am so sorry you feel the way you do. i dont usually say very much of any thing . but i feel like i need to ... there is alot of things that come my way on here, that i do not believe in , but i ignore it , it is so sad you feel the way you do because the people on here would not hurt anyone for nothing in the world. i am sure if the person that sent that card to you thought they was going to offend you .. they would not have sent it..i dont see anyone handcuffing you and making you read what was sent to you, i am so sorry , about being so blunt.. this is my family group and i will stand up for them.. if all of us jumped down each others throats for everytime we was offended, we would get no where. anyway if you dropped out of one group already because of this situation, and now you are offended from an easter card,, maybe it is time to quit running and search your heart,,,, cause we all love you and care for you, religion is a word,,, but jesus christ lives with in me , i am proud of it and i will not hesitate to let people see it , and if it offends anyone, i am sorry..... again i will take up for this group , this is a loveing and caring group,,, we care and love you may god bless you and keep you in his care Anita R garrett@... Guest guest
It doesn't offend me to see that people have God or Jesus Christ in their heart. That is not what I meant. It was the comment at the end of the story that just crossed me the wrong way. Yes, jokes are spread faster than religious pieces and I don't think that is sad I think that it just means that more people have humor in common than any one religious order. I was not the only person to drop that list. And there is nothing wrong with me if I prefer not to be preached to with every other e mail and that is what was happening to the group. Without exaggeration. There is a difference in that and with adding a tag line to your sign off. One is just your signature the other is setting a tone in the discussions themselves. Like I said I don't want to offend anyone and will, to my dying breath, defend anyone's right to their own form of prayer. Just to please recognize that this is not a one religion or way of thinking list. Felice
Guest guest
Anita, Also I had no idea what the card was about until it opened so I did not have the option of knowing what it was ahead of time so I could delete it without reading it. And I like to know what someone has sent, would be too curious not to. That is why something is sent. You know maybe the word offend is not the right one. Maybe the word inappropriate would be better. For example, I exchange Seasons Greeting cards. And that is what I send out Seasons Greeting cards. It would be inappropriate of me to send Hanukkah Cards to my gentile friends. There is always a happy medium. Felice
Guest guest
There have been more wars fought over religion than any other in this world of ours. I find christianity like this obnoxious, because who actually, apart from a handful of you, says you are right. That is a little a little spiritually arrogant of you I find! OK if you need spiritual crutches, fine, don't beat US up with them please, it is not only obnoxious, it is truly offensive. Where is sensitivity and your so called christian love ethic here. Or is believing in jesus a necessity if you want to belong to this list? > So no I'm not an atheist, but there might be some on this list, no I'mnot a> Buddhist, but there might be someone this list, no I'm not anagnostic, but> there might be someone this list. And I want everyone to becomfortable with> what goes out on this list I am with you on this Felice, well put! Other people have deep and sincere spiritual beliefs in our world, those diversity of beliefs should be respected - not have war declared upon them. Guest guest
Felice, I'm not one to get in the middle of disputes but I have to disagree with you on this. This list is for all of us to share everything including our beliefs. No, everyone may not believe in the Lord but for those of us who do we greatly appreciate Jo's posting of this. You did not need to open the attachment and read it if you chose not to being it goes against your beliefs. But it doesn't mean that Jo shouldn't have forwarded this message to the group to those who believe in the cross that the Lord carried for us and still does. I feel that you took this way too personally and basically put those of us down who believe in the Lord and believe in His love and support. We all carry our own cross living with RSD. I loved the Easter card Jo sent. Once again, you did not have to open it. Jo did not purposely try to offend you or anyone else. I am not sure what you mean when you say you are celebrating your holiday?? To me, Easter is celebrating the Lord. Whatever you are celebrating is your choice and you could have responded in a more polite manner expressing your holiday celebration and it's meaning. I am sure we would have acknowledged your feelings. I'm truly sorry if I have spoken out of turn here but I was very distressed by your posting. I couldn't make it through a single day without the Lord. And I am so thankful that He is there for me. Maybe you should try to understand how some of us feel too just as we want to understand how you feel. I won't say Happy Easter since I gather that would be wrong so I'll just say happy weekend. Guest guest
I thought Jo's cards was very nice. You never heard me say anything was wrong with it. And I didn't say Jo shouldn't have posted the story. I said that what bothered me was the comment on the very end. Not the story itself! I won't bother reporting why I didn't agree with that part. I have said it enough. Felice
