No Haven't used it but it sounds fascinating - does it smell similar to sandalwood to you? Willow > I am wondering if anyone has used Cypress Blue oil in a > massage blend > before? Guest guest
Welcome to the list . Glad to have you on board. I have not used the Cypress Blue. It is an interesting choice, may I ask you why that particular oil? Pat. list owner > > Hi Everyone. I am a cosmetic chemist and was told about this group by > a friend. Guest guest
Hi Willow, It is a bit like sandalwood oil to smell but is a whole lot cheaper. It has a similar make up to Lavender but is a local and traditional(for me in Oz) alternative. Just curious to know if anyone had tried it in any healing blends? Anyway, I will have a play with it and let you know after Wednesday! > > > I am wondering if anyone has used Cypress Blue oil in a > > massage blend > > before? Guest guest
Hi Pat, I am trying to formulate with as many local ingredients as possible and this is an Australian equivalent to Lavender. Just wondered if anyone had any practical experience with it! I will let you know how I go. Thanks for the welcome! > > > > Hi Everyone. Guest guest
Welcome ! Personally I think the Cypress Blue (I've only seen it from Australia) is a perfect addition to a massage oil. It supposedly has amazing skin moisturizing properties, plus relaxing benefits. It's often compared to Blue Chamomile. The only thing is that it is fairly expensive as is German or Roman Chamomile. So, yes, I think if you're not worried about the cost, this is a good choice. There are, of course, many other good relaxing essential oils that are less expensive. Again, welcome! Ann annrn@... Guest guest
Hi , I didn't realize you were from Australia. I would assume the oil is less expensive there than here. It runs close to $500.00 per LB. here if you purchase by one LB lots. This is a little too expensive for me to use in a massage oil. I may be tempted if the blue would color the rest of the oils but that seems unlikely. From what I read about it I cannot see many benefits other than it is anti-inflamatory. You or other members may have other information, if so could you please point me in the right direction. It seems that it has had a history of litigation going back many years and I have been unable to find out if all this litigation is over with or still ongoing. Do you know anything about this? Please keep us updated on your experiments with it. Pat. > > > > > > Hi Everyone. I am a cosmetic chemist and was told about this group by > > > a friend.
