Dan,

You are confused. The link you posted is NOT the link to the Plum Island in question, which is off the coast of Long Island! The link you posted is to a different island, on the coast of Massachusetts, which is a resort area, and happens to also be called Plum Island (NOT "Plumb", which is in the realm of carpentry). Plum Island is named for the Beach Plum tree, which grows in the area.

If you look at a map of Long Island, you will see Plum Island, right off the coast, very close ot Orient Point. Orient Point is on the northern fork of the "fish tail" of Long Island, as opposed to Montauk Point, which is on the southern fork.

It's fine that you have no interest in the history of Lyme disease, or the U.S. biowarfare program. But please - it's important to get your facts in order.

Jane,Honestly Jane I am not real interested in determining the origins of lyme disease. My interest lies in finding effective treatment for my wife, my two children and myself. The question asked for impressions about the TV program and I answered the question. I did not say I was making any final analysis of the legitimacy of the assertion that lyme disease originates with biowarfare reasearch at the Plum Island facility. The book may very well offer some compelling evidence and I may read it, but it's really an academic exercise. The Newberry, MA Chamber of Commerce promotes Plumb Island as a resort and recreational area with beaches, wildlife viewing etc. http://www.newburyportchamber.org/plum_island.shtml. There are many year round and seasonal residents. I suppose they

have to come to the mainland once in a while for groceries. Maybe should have hitched a ride with one of them.Dan > >> > who ever was able to catch the plum island story ..> > I would love to hear your thoughts ..???> > > > > > "Until one has loved an animal, part of their soul remains unawakened." > > > > > > > > > >> > > > > ------------------------------------> > If your post is not about electronic devices used in the treatment of Lyme then please put an OT: in the subject line. > > ------------------------------->

Jane,

I am glad you clarified this, I was wondering what a government lab was doing on

such a nice looking island populated with humans! With the kind of experiments

that went on there, I don't think any human would want to live on that island...

I never knew there we two Plum Islands! The other one looks pretty nice!
