Guest guest
Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone else experienced an " achy " feeling in your vulva in addition to the burning and rawness. My vulva is literally throbbing with pain today. Sort of like if someone kicked me in the crotch or something? Any thoughts about what that means? This thing is so discouraging.....Sometimes I really get scared that I will have to live with this forever..... Sigh.... Guest guest
, I occasionally have this symptom and have been told by my GYN that this is a normal symptom of PMS. According to her, the vulvar area blood vessels swell during this time and fill with blood, and this along with the normal swelling of the area can cause the aching feeling we get during or before our period. I find that constipation during this time makes the aching worse. Taking something to relieve that could help the pain. Donna P. Guest guest
Dear , I get that as well. I attribute it to swelling which I get mid cycle, inflammation even on a barely able to see level, when I bleed heavily, and when I have been on my feet or done to much I have it. Mostly with heavy bleeding though. It's the most exhausted bone tired ache I think I have ever felt! It seems to go through my whole body. I'm sorry you have this but I hope I have set your mind at ease some. Blessings, Shirley.
Guest guest
, I get the same kind of feeling down there. I actually described it exactly the same way you did, that it feels like someone kicked me there. It hurts to sit and it feels like the pain is right in the bones. It feels as if I have no padding on my bottom and that I'm sitting right on the bones themselves. (Believe me, I have plenty of padding down there!) Sorry you have that discomfort, but good to know I'm not alone. Janis
Guest guest
Donna, I always get the ache during my period along with cramps. I always used to say I had cramps in my vulva. But, now I also have flare ups of the ache even when my period is nowhere near. Hmmmm... Thanks for the info.. Guest guest
, I have had aching and throbbing also. Miserable! My pain symptoms are: burning, raw feeling, and general pain. The symptoms vary throughout the month. I also have numbness periodically. It doesn't hurt, but it certainly feels strange. Does anyone else experience numbness in the vulva area? Guest guest
Wow, Kathy, yes I do have numbness occasionally! Especially when I've been sitting at the computer for awhile!

I'll second that. After sitting at the computer, I usually either experience pain or numbness. Given the choice, I'd pick the numbness in a second.
