Guest guest
Dear : A Herrington Rod and the screws which hold them in place are an extremely Invasive operation. Few people live pain free from them. Yes, they straighten the spinal cord out and help keep the internal organs where nature intended for them but in the same issue. your son's body had started to get used to things being the way they were. Now myself I do not suffer from scholiosis thank the lord, but when I was practicing I saw alot of patients through my massage clinic who had scholiosis and we had alot of success in reducing pain. Your probably going to find that most surgeons aren't real hip or even up on chronic pain issues. They specialize in surgery not pain left over from such operations unfortunately that leaves you groping and hunting for relief. I would suggest contacting http://www.scoliosis-world.com/cat21.htm for starters. I would also see if there is a chronic pain treatment center in your town or close to where your located. If there is one see if you can get your son into them. What may have occured is due to the stressors of healing from such a surgery your son my have not saying he has done so, but he may have contracted arthritis, or an autoimmune disorder which is causing the pain. There's no easy answer to treating pain or even finding an answer for it. I know I've been in pain now 5 years and am just now with a doctor who will listen to me. Also you might trying lightly massaging his back with warm olive oil or peanut oil, they are said to be pain killing oils. Good Luck Lin`Owen A Prayer is but a breath of spoken mercy, kindness, and support. The physical is just as important as the prayer for not everyone can hear, or see as we do. Remember there is always someone less fortunate, and in far more pain. Share your strength, your patience, and kindness with them for your gentle touch may be the only good thing in thier day. Remember to share, it will make your day better too. Lady Lin`Owen __________________________________________________
