My condition seems worse than any other postings I have seen here. Started as a few bruises and small bumps, ignored it because I had done alot of internet searches and determined that I had EN. All said EN can heal itself within a couple weeks to couple months.Mine kept getting worse with no improvement.I started to suffer fevers and general malaise. Went to dermatologist he did initial biopsy than another. Went to internist he did lots of bloodwork everything came back normal except for some elevated inflammation levels. Which I can totally understand because the lower part of my legs and partial upper thighs are very red rashy, bruised, bumpy and slightly swollen (especially if I am on my feet for a while)My legs look awful. I look as though I have a million incest bites and covered in bruises. I wear long pants when I go out (I live in S. Florida so I am not very comfortable) I normally take 10mg of prednisone for a kidney condition I have and have been for about 10 years. I also have ulcerative colitis which has not been active recently. I know EN can be present in patients with a history of gastrointestinal problems. I have been raised to 50mg prednisone daily which I have been on for about a week. I am not seeing or feeling much improvement. But already being on prednisone for 10 years I believe I have built up a tolerance to it and it takes more time and dosage to see improvement. If anyone has any advice I would love to hear. I have an extremely energetic 8 year old son and trying to keep up with him is a struggle. I have also quit my job because I felt I needed to get myself healthy again. Thank goodness I have a very supportive husband and insurance! Thanks for reading this-please send any advice or similar stories my way. I try to maintain a positive attitude through all of this-it is my nature to try to find positivity in everything but sometimes I get a little down. I just want to be normal again!
