Husband had stress related mental break down 4 months ago. Began hallucinating

about the devil and not sleeping. Acted weird and irrational. Couldn't sleep and

mind racing all the time with strange thoughts. Used to be normal.

Doctors put him on Zoloft and Zyprexa. Now his eyes look spacey, glassy and

weird. He thinks irrational. Thinks everyone is a doctor (even people in stores)

and all people are trying to confuse him and hurt him. He can't remember

anything we talk about. Has lost his job. Can't make simple decisions. Acts

weird. Like he is in his own little strange world. Not the same person he was 4

months ago.

Can't tell if medicine makeing him worse or better. Just stranger. Don't know

how to help him. Rose

I am really glad you found this group. I was on a combination of

Zyprexa and Lexapro. It is an awful combo and my heart goes out to

the both of you for having some " doctor " subject you to this.

You said he looks spacey, glassy, and weird. Those are three

adjectives I can identify with. It is a nasty mix which nearly sent

me down for good. Thank God you are taking the right steps to right

the ship. Now you can educate yourself here on the proper way to

achieve good health. I was lost until I arrived here and rest

assured that your husband will be fine. Now you just have to go

about trying to get him off that poison and onto a real road to

recovery. If I can help in any way let me know. Also, be as honest

and descriptive as you can. It will help the people here who really

know in terms of how to help and it will prove cathartic. You will

be in my thoughts and prayers. God bless,

Casey

** Could you please tell me more about this? How old is your husband?

What were stressors in his life? How did it first manifest? How long

between the first signs of the stress getting to him and the onset of

hallucinations? Is your husband a religious person? Was he on any

pharmaceutical drugs? If so, which ones and for how long? Did he have any

medical conditions? What were his eating habits like? Is there anything

he had been feeling guilty about either recently or throughout his life?

** Well, I'd say that if he's stranger this means the drugs are doing

this. At the very least, they are not helping. These are very toxic drugs

whose prescription might as well be done by throwing a dart at a board with

names of drugs on them. Despite what you might be told, there is very

little science behind these drugs.

Your responses to the first paragraph of questions will help me make

useful suggestions for you.

Welcome to the group. I'm sorry you're going through this. Hang in

there. I'm sure we can help.

Regards,
