Guest guest Posted February 14, 2001 Report Share Posted February 14, 2001 Date: February 14, 2001 4:34 PM Subject: Friends of the EISC - 27 dozen roses, each individually tagged with a message asking the MPs to support the Jennings' Pesticide Bill were delivered to Parliament today. Would you kindly let your LISTS members and, by extension, related LISTS know that the Environmental Illness Society of Canada (EISC) today delivered 27 dozen roses to the Parliament of Canada in support of the Jennings' Pesticide Bill. Whereas the roses could not be placed on MPs desks, for they would be considered props and that is against House Rules, our EISC volunteers tagged each rose with a label asking each MP to get a GRIP on what is important to the health of Canadians and urging them to support the Jennings' Private Member (Pesticide) Bill and, they then made alternate arrangements that ensured that all MPs received a clear Valentine's Day message from the Canadian public. Roses for the MP's of each party were delivered to the offices of all five party's WHIPs for distribution to each of their MPs. I'd like to pass along our thanks to those who generously supported this awareness raising and action-oriented initiative, by making donations to the EISC to help us cover costs.
