If you've ever seen the movie " A Clockwork Orange " the sound effects associated

with the main characters insanity is very similar to the sounds that echo

through my brain when I hear gum chewing! I can't describe the sound effects

very well .. they are heavely reverberated and creates that full ear sensation,

its almost as if no other sounds exists!

penetrate my ear and are amplified! Not really sure how to describe it. I also

deal with anxiety which i am currently on Cymbalta for. Anyone else have

everyday anxiety or have " full " ears? FYI...Cymbalta does NOT help with

misophonia!!!

This is a characteristic symptom long noted by perceptive doctors. Irish

patients of Sir Wilde (Aural Surgery, 1853) described it as ear

pressure, fullness, bursting, stuffiness, stoppage, like water in ear. It is a

diagnostic symptom of Meniere Spectrum Disorder, a very common condition of

altered (probably lowered) inner ear pressure. The ear becomes hypersensitive,

giving rise to dizziness, tinnitus, dull hearing and severe pychological

distress. A prominent symptom is audiosensitivity, over-sensitivity to loud

high-pitched noises.

I wonder if this is something that has led to my anxiety! i do have problems

with loud high-pitched noises. My son screams a lot and I pretty much have

banned whistles and things like that. I believe that people with misophonia may

be dealing with additional aural problems. I know I do!
