Just to share my thoughts on this matter. I have long disagreed with Dr. Jasterboff's approach as he believes it is a learned condition that can be overcome with pyschiatric treatment. Personally, I believe it is a neurological condition and therefore should betrayed as such. How to treat it is the billion dollar question. I have not read of any scientific studies being conducted by Dr. Jasterboff, only his theories and conclusions. HeidiSent from my iPhone

Thank you to a member of this group I sent an email to the medical facility in Amsterdam and they responde to me, they stated that at this moment the only treatment in Amsterdam about misophonia is to be treatable in their psychiatric center. But they also give a me a name of a doctor in Atalanta - Pawel J. Jastreboff, PhD, ScD, he is doing research for misophonia, also there clinic is Emory Healthcare were there know this doctor studies : )

, here is a piece written by Margaret J, Pawel's wife.

As you can see in the 4th paragraph from the bottom, their technique involves

pairing a nice sound, such as music you like, with the bad sound.

I do not have confidence that this treatment works.

Please keep everyone posted after your appointment. I am sure everyone here

would be interested in knowing what the Emory clinic tells you and whether they

have any successful treatment. Please do not get your hopes up too high.

Dr. Jastreboff continues to work in the field and create new ideas about the

whole subject but he has not been located in Georgia for quite a long time.

TO my knowledge, he has very little to offer in the way of research or

documentation on the specific issues of misophonia but he is responsble for

coming up with the name (from a friend).
