Guest guest
I don't know how to add a new post to everyone but has anyone read up on HSP (Highly Sensitive People). You can check out Jim Hallowes and find out more. We are highly sensitive misophoniacs!! I first heard of this group at the beginning of the year and I went to one of their support groups here in LA. Check it out.To: Soundsensitivity Sent: Monday, October 17, 2011 9:34 PMSubject: Re: isolation There are people who charge up their energy for life by being around other people - extroverts. There are people for whom being around others is draining - introverts like me. I'm pretty happy being isolated and away from people, so I have become something of a hermit. The problem is, even in one's one home there are noises, and I've become sensitized to several. There are others in the neighborhood, like barking dogs, that I can't control. There's really no place on Earth to hide. I sometimes wonder if deafness would be preferable, but with my luck it would come with some random noise or tinnitus and I'd go crazy. It just isn't a choice. The best idea is to learn to cope as best I can. > > I am becoming a total hermit due to noise sensitivity.Have any of you re=acted in the same way? Being in public anywhere with its whistling, gum chewing, sniffling, cell phones, computer clicking and many more things cause me such rage that it is easier to stay home. As others hve said, going deaf seems like it would be a blessing and cure >

Guest guest
I have HSP as well as Misophonia, not sure if they are the same thing but very interesting. I dont find the HSP a problem (apart from the noise and sometimes the visual aspect) I actually find it useful. So I am a double coin, on one side I think I am lucky while the other side is torture. Not everyone here is a HSP there just happens to be the sound cross over. I happwb to be a HSP who also has Misophonia.
