Lilly: Unaware of Any Missing Documents

Fri Dec 31, 2004 03:44 PM ET

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Drug maker Eli Lilly and Co. on Friday said in

response to charges made in the British Medical Journal that it is unaware

of any allegations that documents were missing from its clinical drug

trials.

The article in the journal said an anonymous source had provided " missing

documents " related to trials of Prozac that showed a link between the

antidepressant and suicidal behavior.

The company said " it has always been Lilly's objective to publicly disclose

data about both the safety and efficacy of fluoxetine, the drug's generic

name.

Lilly said it has made several requests to the British journal to obtain

copies of the supposed missing documents and is still awaiting a response.
