Guest guest
--- Thanks Jan, here's to a better new year for everyone. I just wanted to mention the fact that I have been home since wed and all my supplements are at Promis still, I have none here ( stupid me) anyway the nerve pain in my feet has been getting progressively worse, so a certainty that the magnesium, gingko etc works for me even if it doesnt take away the pain completely as I am still living in flip flops!! I cant wait for the pain to go so I can swim again, water increases the nerve pain 100% I am going back to Promis tomorrow afternoon, armed in battle to get them to perscribe ALA. Will try hard to keep in contact with you all. Look after each other God Bless each and everyone of you SHelley J In Withdrawal_and_Recovery , creativesources@j... wrote: > . > OFF TOPIC > . > Wishing you a fresh start in 2005 that is > healthy, joy-filled, and love-filled. > " Happy New Year " ..... Guest guest
Dear , You said: <<here's to a better new year for everyone.>> ** And the very same to you. :-) You said: <<I just wanted to mention the fact that I have been home since wed and all my supplements are at Promis still, I have none here ( stupid me) anyway the nerve pain in my feet has been getting progressively worse, so a certainty that the magnesium, gingko etc works for me even if it doesnt take away the pain completely as I am still living in flip flops!!>> ** Well, this is certainly good news! Sometimes improvement happens so gradually that it is difficult to recognize until something like this occurs. You said: <<I cant wait for the pain to go so I can swim again, water increases the nerve pain 100%>> ** Is this running water or even standing water (as in soaking your feet or taking a tub bath)? Does anyone else here experience this? You said: <<I am going back to Promis tomorrow afternoon, armed in battle to get them to perscribe ALA.>> ** You go, girl! Be a good advocate for your health. Don't let anyone talk you into anything that doesn't feel right to you, and advocate tirelessly for what you believe you need (including higher quality protein in the vegetarian diet). BTW, how's your blood sugar been while there? What components of the program do you think are good for you? Thanks for keeping us updated, . Our thuoghts and prayers are with you daily. May the coming year be filled with inner peace, joy, love, and opportunities for growth. Hugs,
Guest guest
---Thanks , your support means the world to me. Regarding the water, it doesnt seem to make a difference, running water, or soaking the feet in water, hot all cold, it is all just really painful. Blood sugars, are permanantly on the lower side, usually 4.7 after 2 hrs. I really don't know where this diabetes diagonise comes from!! I struggle going the 4 hrs with nothing to eat, as I often feel weak, dizzy and sick. I guess for me my body doesn't enjoy being in a range from 3.5 to 4.8! The elements of the program that are good for me personally are tricky to assess, I am gaining confidence I think. Regarding the twelve step program, it seems that they are looking for something sinister sometimes, they find it hard to accept that I just have such a morbid fear over the low blood sugar and how weird it makes me feel. I havent lost much weight at all, I am not surprised really, I lost that stone and a half before i went in and to be honest the food is lots of roast potatoes and things like that, sometimes it is really rich food. I keep on about the protein, but often they say it is my eating disorder talking, I try to stay calm and explain that if as meat eaters they were just given potatoes and veggies they would be unimpressed! Regarding equilvalent veggie protein , what quantities equal say a piece of chicken, in tofu, quorn, cheese etc? They have strict rules about no bibles and things like that, which we all find really odd, thats hard for me. But I know God is with me. Well, I guess thats it for now, will let you know about the ALA, hoping if I can get the right doctor it will be OK, lots of them laugh when my huge bag of supplements come out, but I dont care, I know our way is right. Thankfully, at least the goatein gives me decent protein! Well, I shall check this again before I go back and then hope I can find some time to keep writing to you all. Everyone is really nice there, but there are things that need changing as there are everywhere, and I know that if I could get the message and info across about withdrawing from anti depressants many of the patients would have an easier time. When I am stronger, I will have more input I hope, the doctors there do get people off them so that is a good thing and they acknowledge the side effects and have said that I should expect 1-2 years before all the side effects go. , thanks for everything.
